Getting Involved
Whether you fancy acting, directing, producing, costuming, teching or even just selling tickets, Bedlam Theatre has a place for you.
Bedlam is run by the Edinburgh University Theatre company. We stage at least one show every week of term and shows are always looking for help. We have a company meeting every Monday during term time at 6.30pm in the cafe at the theatre and everyone is welcome to come along. Just come to the side door on Bristo Place and ring the bell.
From September we will be holding regular workshops on everything from new writing to lighting design. Keep checking the news page for information. As well as this there are loads of ways you can get involved.

Acting
Open auditions are held several times a year. No experience or preparation is needed. Keep checking the website news page for audition dates. If you are interested in improvised comedy the Improverts hold free weekly improvisation workshops at midday every Saturday during term time. This relaxed and informal workshop is open to beginners and veterans of improv alike.
Tech
If you are interested in operating sound or lights you can come along any Friday night during term time and learn to tech the Improverts, Bedlam's resident improv comedy troupe. Just come to the side door on Bristo Place at 9.30pm. If you're interested in helping out with one of our other shows then come along to a company meeting or email Adam, our tech manager.
Producing
All shows need someone to handle the budget, promote the show and organise and distribute the publicity. Shows are often looking for assistant producers to help out with this. Come along to a company meeting to speak to producers of current shows. Want to know more? Email Will, our productions manager.
Stage Managing
Stage management at the Bedlam is different to bigger theatres. Our stage managers do everything from sourcing props and materials to designing and building the set. Shows need as many people as possible to help with set building and stage management. If you are interested then come along to a company meeting or email Natalie, our set manager.
Costuming
Our wardrobe manager is always looking for people to help keep our costume store orgainsed and help out with making new costumes for shows. If you'd like to know more about costuming at Bedlam you can email Emily.
You can find out more information about any aspect of the Edinburgh University Theatre Company by emailing info@bedlamtheatre.co.uk or any of the committee members.
