How I Learned To Drive

"Sometimes to tell a secret, you first have to teach a lesson"
Wednesday 19 November

How I Learned to Drive is Paula Vogel’s 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama. Based on Vogel’s own experiences, the play is an honest, touching and funny look at a taboo romance between a young girl and an older man. It looks at the way hurt people hurt each other with what The New York Times recognized as Vogel’s “remarkable, clear-eyed empathy” and celebrates the way we move on and grow stronger even through the people who harm us.
