Set in 1943 on an idyllic summers’ day a group of children play virtually unhindered by the far-off war, indulging in their apparent innocence. Dennis Potter’s acclaimed television play (now on the Bedlam stage) builds a complex picture of childhood and the darker side of growing up. A sometimes hilarious, sometimes discomforting but altogether touching story.
